As a martial artist, Scott Gehring's pursuit is to help people flourish, add meaning to their lives, and develop them into modern-day warriors. During his 35-year career, Scott has helped hundreds of people in all walks of life with the gift of martial arts as a tool for both heightened physical and mental performance.

Martial arts career highlights
Scott trains multiple mixed martial arts including, but not limited to Jeet Kune Do, Kenpo, Jiu-Jitsu, Kali, Karate, Silat, and Savate. He is currently located in Ocean City, New Jersey, and runs the EPOC Martial Arts training club.
The focus of EPOC training is on the complete integration of holistic force - movement, firepower, and communication, applied across all the physical bases of combat: ground, stand-up, empty, and weapons.
Scott holds formal rank in Contemporary Jeet Kune Do, and Kenpo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Contemporary Jeet Kune Do - Scott Gehring is a certified Full Instructor under martial arts legend Paul Vunak. Paul Vunak is one of Dan Inosanto's top students, and went on to create the RAT self-defense system used for the Navy Seal team 6. The RAT system has been evolved and is used today as one of the premier rapid-to-learn, self-defense programs.
Kenpo - Scott Gehring is a 6th Degree Black Belt under Larry Tatum, a 4th black belt under Joe Palanzo, and 2nd Degree under Tom Kelly. Larry Tatum, Joe Palanzo and Tom Kelly were the highest ranking belts in Ed Parkers life-time. Mr. Parker parted the bulk of his art and his knowledge between these three individuals. This trifecta of Kenpo knowledge gives Scott a unique perspective on the Kenpo system that very few people in the world have today.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Scott holds formal rank in Rickson Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (JJGF) under Head Instructor Barry Jenkins.
